The update of 0.2mm seems reasonable. 1mm was a joke.
From the new comparison pictures, it looks like the top plate is responsible for the slight difference in thickness. Perhaps it isn't popped together tight enough? I'd try squeezing it really hard.
I wonder how much variance is present in the black model actually. I mean if you measured the thickness of several black iphone 4 models from different batches. Perhaps there is variability and this will occur with the white model too. Or perhaps the white is very slightly thicker.
As it is so small, this is not a problem. As the link in the update points out, most cases fit. The few that don't will have to be altered by the manufacturer. But I have to laugh at comments about owners of iphone 4 cases having to buy new ones for the white iphone they just bought to replace the black one. I seriously doubt that is happening to any great degree. And for those few who are buying white iphones 6 months or less after the black just for a new color, they are not going to complain about having to buy a new case. Suddenly after buying an expensive iphone just for the new color they are getting a sense of frugality? Right.
Now on to better topics:
1. Where is the white ipod touch?
2. When will the ipod classic get a hard drive upgrade?
3. Will there ever be an ipod tough 3G/4G? Will it double as a mifi?

I'm fine sticking with my iphone 4 for a while longer. It is great and if they give or at least preview iOS 5.0 ill be very happy :)

What does it take to be an analyst now? Just some 20-sided dice and a few key/buzz word decisions to make?
These guys throw out hundreds of the wild-ass predictions each year and just through sheer probability, someone is right. But they always pat each other on the back in each other's blogs with stuff like "Wow, White really nailed that one didn't he".
I was just thinking the same thing... how do I become an Analyst so I can 'come back from a Chinese trade-show' and make wild-ass predictions? (This particular analyst has 11 whole years of experience!)

Think iPad 2 with the "L" shape stand as the new iMac. Ditch the Optical Drive, not needed anymore considering its takes up space and is hardly ever used by the majority. :)

The iPhone 4 will still be the best smartphone on the market when the iPhone 5 comes out.
Holding it back makes a lot of sense at this point.

Anyway, regards to the topic. The September event seems plausible, and i know many people speculated it to be the case before as well. Makes sense because they can't really upgrade the iPod line that dramatically anymore. Thus they can introduce the new iPhone 5 and iPod Touch together, without people already knowing what the iPod Touch will encompass.
Only question is, can Apple keep the demand in Fall? with iPod line, iPhone and Mac upgrades?
On a side note people, don't put the iPhone 5 and iPad 3 under the same rumor umbrella. Clearly because, the iPhone 5 will come out this year, and the iPad 3 won't.

The CPU would be considerably faster, but the graphics ughh lol. The only way I can see myself grabbing a new one this year is if it comes with some type of integrated 3G plan similar to the iPad, then I'd consider downgrading the GPU.
Idk how the CPU would be considerably faster than a 2.13 GHz core2duo.
The only bright side to this upgrade is the fact that battery might last extra :30 -1:00 hour.
Does this mean we might see thunderbolt in the new MBA? (which i dont even care)
If the CPU processing is really that faster than the 2.13 I would like to know since I ordered an MBA yesterday :P

How long after you make a purchase does the App Store remember your password so you don't have to enter it again? I presume that's what happened in this case.
Apple definitely should give you a warning that you're about to purchase an app more costly than $75. Although this kid obviously only went to the app because of its cost.

i bought it on friday and man the sound is amazing=D!!! the only thing missing is that i have to buy a HDMI Switcher for my PS3:) so i can enjoy my blu-ray movies/concert on my 32" TV and it all fitted in my room hehe:P

Personally it's a lot easier to swallow $99 a year for a new Apple TV (set top box) than $999 a year for a new Apple branded television.

I love these new UI touches.
But UI changes are not enough for me to spend $129 on alone. If it were $29 like Snow Leopard was, then that'd be different, but I highly doubt that'll happen this time around. Let's see some real features (ones that haven't been mentioned yet).

At 10:30 this morning Bristol had a few white Verizon pads and a few black 16GB WiFi pads. Neither was what I was looking for. I went to MV, Spectrum, Fashion Isalnd, called Brea and Cerritos - all sold out. I am going back to Bristol for opening time tomorrow.

Bristol Apple store? Ill be going to Best Buy (Tustin / the District / Costa Mesa, either of those) to reserve an iPad tomorrow. If they happen to have one, ill get a black 16gb WiFi. Ill probably call each store before I go though. Either way, Ill have one by the end of the week it seems.
And if that doesnt work, Ill try the Apple stores (Irvine and Fashion Island and South Coast.)
Then if I am totally empty handed Ill just expand outside of the OC if I have to.
