I'd pay the full MobileMe $99/year price if I could sync all of the DVD movies I ripped (which currently fill up the 2TB hard drive on my iMac) to use in this fashion.
I'm suuuuuure Apple would allow that!
EDITED to add: Yes, these are MY movies. Ripped them to stream to my AppleTV.

This would be a good quick way for Apple to lose a couple billion dollars, and some face. As has been said, TV is a very mature market with deeply entrenched players fighting over scraps of profit. There is no way Apple could innovate enough in this area that would compel people to ditch their existing sets, and pay an Apple premium. Google is failing miserably with their attempt.
These are the strategies I see Apple taking:
1. License Airplay. Now any iOS device streams to legions of TVs, bluray decks, and receivers.
2. Enhance Apple TV with apps and games.
3. Profit.

Watch the news on this right now ... they are talking about how huge Bin Laden is in Al-Queda ... he goes back to the beginning of it.
if anything Ayman al-Zawahiri is a distant #2 leader
Looks like Navy Seals played a big role in getting the job done ... cheers to them.
God knows that if the news is reporting something, its the truth.
Seriously? Why would news channels that helped in the march for war play this up at all?

Dunno if this was posted, but Safari lets you resize text boxes within pages:

Would be better if it worked like OmniWeb and allowed you to open a resizable floating window for the text.

not everyone wants a dedicated home server that they load everything on and let it run 24 hours a day. We just have a MBA.... i'm not gonna load all my music on there and leave it plugged in 24 hours a day. Just not gonna happen.
Exactly. It's more than just the $5 for the app and the data cap/bandwidth issues. It is wear and tear on a machine that has to be left on 24/7. It is the hydro cost of running that machine 24/7 instead of turning it off when you go out (this alone may well add up to more than $20/year!) If you don't want your main machine on 24/7 then it is the cost of another Mac mini or NAS or other device to act as the server instead.
It is also wear and tear on your 2 TB drive that has to be on 24/7, as opposed to working more like a backup drive that's only activated occasionally to back up your music files. It is the hassle of ensuring AudioGalaxy and your server and your ISP internet connection are all up and running when you need them to be (dealing with power outages, internet outages, maintenance, restarts, software updates, etc.)
$20/year might well be worth it for the uptime and hydro considerations alone.

If you want to go that route, milk it for all it's worth. Preserve him, decorate him as a piata, and have anyone who wants take three whacks on primetime worldwide TV. Families of 9/11 victims get to be first in line.
I like it! And after they're done Obama can piss on his corpse! :D
I disagree, we should wrap him in an army blanket and bury Bin Laden in an unmarked grave; the man's had enough celebrity already.
But then you're gonna have muslims demanding that he has a proper muslim burial, that's all we need...

I do, and so does anyone who has a classic environment of System 7 and earlier for classic compatibility reasons.
Of course, and I meant that in the 'general sense'. I have long since abandoned the use of Classic on any of my OS X Macs or any of the Macs I support. AppleTalk is so deprecated that I can hardly believe that anyone will be able to use it much longer. In fact, I wouldn't be shocked if it was completely absent from 10.5.
As for the AFP needing AppleTalk, I'm glad you linked the correction. As AppleTalk was an Apple prorietary networking protocol and more and more places were dropping support for AppleTalk routing between subnets/routers (it is PROHIBITIVELY expensive for routers that will pass AT traffic) AFP moved to AFPoverTCP.
I do, and so does anyone who has a classic environment of System 7 and earlier for classic compatibility reasons.
Which makes it even MORE odd that it's enabled by default in MacTels, which don't run Classic.

(CBS/AP) Osama bin Laden, the long-time figurehead of the al Qaeda terrorist network, has been buried at sea after being killed in a U.S. raid in Pakistan.
U.S. officials told CBS News that bin Laden's body would be handled in accordance with Muslim traditions, which include strict rules on burial taking place within 24 hours after death.
Bin Laden was a Saudi national, but officials tell CBS News that the Kingdom was unwilling to have his remains repatriated.http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2011/05/02/501364/main20058795.shtml

This would be excellent; an iPhone that roam onto any network of the 16 frequency band groups.
Maybe even add RUIM functionality to the iPhone, so we can roam onto CDMA!
Wouldn't that be grand! :p

Wow, maybe theres something to Appleguys theory about you.
Anyway, Im going into the hospital tomorrow morning and Im not sure when Ill be posting again. So, Ill just leave it at:
The village would be making a HUGE mistake to vote me off, if it comes to that. One of these two, Eldiablowjoe or nies without the bun is probably a WW.

I'm betting the tax rebate checks will bump Apple sales...
People with extra cash + unusually low priced popular stock. I believe your betting correctly ;)
I say, buy now. Because by April, Apple will have rolled out several new products and generated lots of buzz once again. This low price will waiver a bit and won't last through February.

WTF!
The top 3.1 Ghz 27" iMac has a cheaper i5-2400 CPU, than the low-end 27" and high-end 21.5", with both have i5-2500S processors!
(The i5-2400 is 184$ (http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=52207) and the i5-2500S is 216$ (http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=52211))
+ the 2500S can do 3.7 Ghz in turbo, and the 2400 can only 3.4 Ghz in Turbo Mode!!!???:confused:
Am I wrong?

Can anyone confirm if the battery life has improved?
Unfortunately, no! My wife's 3GS lost 33% overnight after a full charge :(
I just did the normal update. Next I am going to try to just install 4.3.2 and setup as new and not restore any data and see if stock install still has issue to rule out some corrupt setting/data.

This one goes out to all the tinfoil hat wearers....you know who you are (secret code inserted here.-..-11..-312).
I think Apple intentionally borked our current 320M graphic power in the 10.6.7 release fiasco. This was intentional. That way when they release the new MBA's with the inferior integrated graphics chipset, they can actually show an IMPROVEMENT in graphic speed.
Seriously. Its true. I read it on the intrawebs.
why would that not surprise me
