I have started a new thread to remind everyone (who has not yet contributed) to contribute for the just concluded Advocacy day.
Take some funds from any money that you put aside this year for charitable causes or temple donations. All that you contribute is money well spent - as eventually it would benefit a number of people and entire families. So helping people better their lives is like contributing to charitable causes. Even $50 is good to start with. Hope that motivates all.

I filed my I-485 in July 07 at Nebraska service center and my wife had her finger printing done a month or so ago but I am yet to get the notice. Is there some number I can call and check. My Lawyer is very uncooperative in this case.

My Labor is stuck in Atlanta processing center.... It is frustrating to see people getting approvals in 2 days from Chicago center.
While people who apply to Chicago today, can file 485 by July, I'm gonna miss the boat :eek:

Hi,
I am wondering if I can sent both my and mywifes EAD applications in one envelope to USCIS or do I have to send them separately. I am not asking to save money on postal costs , as everyone knows we all spent 1000's of dollars in this GC process. I am only asking so that our(my and mywife) applications are processed together?

A 7th year extension is still possible, but the extension petition must be filed within 180 days of the LC approval. ( per current DOlL regulations, the LC expires after 180 days). My advice would be to have company B file to amend it's petition, requesting a validity date of 12/12.

Please help me to get out of this confusion.
My H4-H1 Adjustment of status is approved and i have Advance parole and EAD with me through my husbands i485 application.I need to travel to india in jan/feb 2008 for 2-3weeks.I may not be able to go for stamping at that time.My H4 visa stamp is valid till sep2008.My H1 approval notice is valid till sep2010.
My question is,can i travel to india and come back without H1 stamping using Advance parole?If i come in using Advance parole can i work again on H1 or do i need to use EAD?

I had applied AP for my daughter (10 years old). I have read that the Biometrics are required only for 14 years and older. In her case she got I797 with an appointment in late June for Finger Printing (obliviously we had tickets to goto India before that date :-) . What can be done to pre pone the appointment and get the AP at the earliest.

Hi,
My 6 years of H1B will be up soon and my NIW I-140 petition is pending. I have received my EAD card though.
What options do I have - will I be able to extend my H1B for another year? Can I use the EAD card as it is without getting the I-140 approved, even though it is risky?

This important decision is being taken as the global community witnesses the Iranian Government�s increasing censorship and isolation of its own people.
Iranians currently in the United States on a three-month, single-entry visa in one of these categories must reapply outside the United States at a consular post in order to obtain two-year, multiple-entry visas. Keep in mind that the validity of a visa refers to the time period the visa holder has to enter the U.S. It has no bearing on the length of stay permitted by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials at the port of entry. My wife is currently in the US and since my PD is current we need to file her I-485. We are trying to self file and would like to know what documents do we need to provide to prove that she successfully fullfilled her 2 year home residency requirement (HRR). She left the US in January 15, 2006 and came back on H4 in February 8, 2008.
The fact that she was granted H4 visa implies that she has fullfilled the 2 year HRR but our attorney said that she needs to prove that my wife did indeed fullfill this requirement.
Has anyone been in this position?
Please advise.

Hello All,
My company filed for my H1-B extension and I have already received the Notice Of Action (Receipt) with "Received date: October 21, 2008" and "Notice Date: October 24, 2008." My case is in Vermont Center. However when I do the case search on USCIS.gov site, it says:
"Your case can not be found at this time in Case Status Online. Please check your receipt number and try again. If you need further assistance, you can either call the National Customer Service Center at 1.800.375.5283, or you can send an e-mail to uscis.webmaster@dhs.gov."
I did not type my EAC number incorrectly. I did try to call the above number, which happens to be the national center's number. However it goes in loops and loops but I was not able to speak to a Customer Service representative...I tried almost all applicable options.
Is there a way i can call the Vermont Service directly. If so could anyone please list that number. I would really appreciate any kind of help and suggestions regarding this.
