Quick survey to findout how many people like the idea of having their passports restamped here in USA and avoid all the surprises and shocks. This doesn't need any legal fixes. It is a convenient measure for everyone. Besides it was an old practice that was stopped for "security" reasons or some crapp. It is a small step but helps with any cases like family emergency or some urgent business need to travel abroad.

We had applied for an extension of my in-laws visa, and it got rejected. Is there any way we can appeal this decision?
Also, they are here a day past their I-94 expiration. Will their multiple entry visas be cancelled? They will leave within 30 days time past their I-94 expiration.

My H1 is valid until 2010 Feb.
I am also having EAD till 2011 June.
I have been with my employer all along.... and prefer to stay with same employer till GC.
I DONT want to apply for my H1 extension since they are asking lot of questions like Contract details etc with RFE's.
My Q is - Can i use EAD with my EXISTING employer or EAD should be used for only NEW employer based on AC21?
If i use EAD with my current employer, should i have to inform uscis(any process involved)?
Please suggest...

I got approved H1-B notice on 30th Dec 2008 from CSC. My previous expired H1-B date ends with 02/14/2009, but my current newly approved one starts with 02/26/2009. So there is a gap of 11 days between those. Currently I'm on job. Does it really means out-of-status?. Do I need to run February pay check with less hours and officially in vacation?.
Please advice me.

Currently, My company A is working on reorgnization. I am not clear which term I can use to descrip this changes:

Hello all,
First some background:
I purchased a house this September and my apartment lease expires end of Sept. So I am basically living at both places and moving slowly. Anyway my USPS mail forwarding starts from 9/21.
As far as immigration and change of address goes, based on my lawyers advise...I filled out the online AR-11 change of address and also updated address change for my 485/ap/ead ( I am a july 2nd candidate) pending cases as well. However, after downloading the pdf version of the AR-11 I realized I misspell "Lane" to "Land." Don't know if this is a huge problem. Anyway can I re-file the AR-11 and change of address for all the pending petitions again for myself and my spouse? Does anyone have any thoughts or could share their experience? I read somewhere its also a good idea to update address with local office by getting info pass appointment? Any comments/ thoughts?
Also, in the AR-11 form I didn't provide email address, is that a big deal?

Sorry you cannot claim. You have been a resident of GA, so rent/meals/commutation/laundry cannot be claimed as deductions in Tax return. You never had a home in NY/NJ. You will surely be a RED flag for IRS. Dont do wrong things to get some money. State the truth and be satisfied of the tax return you get.
However, you can surely ask your employer to give a part of your salary as expense reimbursement, which is legal.
Trust me, you get more tax return here in US, than in India.

Yes you need to renew her EAD every year or every two years now a days. You do not have to renew her H4 because now she is not on H4.

I agree that option B is the correct choice. They are looking for you to have a stable residency, so having it established as the application time nears makes the most sense. Still, I would consult with an expert or an attorney if you have the opportunity.

For I-140 USCIS does not update the online status properly. For both of my EB3 and EB2 I-140s still the case status says they received the application and processing!

This question is for my friend. he has a Bcom (3 years bachlors from India) with certification of chartered accountant and cost accountant. He has a 6 years of post qualification experience in india (after ca and ) and now he has 6.5 years of experience in US. (Total post qualification experience is 11-12 years)
His lawyer said as this is a 3 years degree you dont qualify for EB2. lawyer also send us a case where DOL denied CA plus 3 years of bcom under EB2.
Can you help us if he qualify for EB-2, what is the best way to file.

I think approved I-140 is the right stage. Why do we have to live in uncertainty after an application for immigration has been approved. It also makes sense to request AOS for 5+ years of H1 as well.
