The show was nothing short of exquisite! Highly recommended.

Not a single analyst has explained WHY this would be better for Apple than simply selling more Apple TVs. They just say it like it makes sense and expect us to believe them.
I'm sorry, but that's not good enough.
WHY would Apple want to take on shipments of large, expensive packages?
WHY would Apple want to limit their market for a new product to people who want an entirely new TV?
WHY do you think Apple cares more about what logo is on the back of the TV that by what software is showing up on the screen?
And WHY isn't the Apple TV good enough for the goal of getting the iOS and iTunes worlds into the living room?
I think the changes to the latest Apple TV is a sign of where Apple wants to be headed. The next Apple TV will be even smaller and come free when you buy a Mac, iPad, or iPhone. Wait and see! Just like giving e-mail away helps Google's ecosystem, so does getting Apple TVs into people's houses help Apple's ecosystem.
Selling some $2,000 TV doesn't help with that.
I'd agree that it doesn't make much sense. But that doesn't mean I think Apple will never do it! Apple (i.e. Jobs?) are obsessed with controlling the entire user-experience, and as such might love to add their own HDTV to complete the solution.
There's a lot of potential to add a lot more integration between TV and Mac/PC. Typically this has just been "PC as a video/audio source for the TV", but you could add on-screen notifications/messages even while watching other sources (such as cable), far better TV-based browsers, faster & better looking TV-guides etc.
Yes there is a lot of competition out there, but Apple are quite good at taking on a "commodity" low-margin market and adding value to it and thriving. And I'd love to see the design they come up with.

Pages needs real wordprocessing tools, like cross-references, bibliography, and an outline view. If that's what's in store with Pages 3, I'll be very pleased.
That said, I use Pages 2 every day already, for both copywriting and page layout jobs. It runs quite nicely on my MacBook.
As far as a grammar tool is concerned: that's a useless feature. It never works, in any app, on any platform. And people should simply learn grammar, if they want to write something. It would make much more sense for Apple to include dictionaries and thesauri for other languages. We're not all Americans!

A very "noobish" question.....Are iMac's upgradable? The reason i ask is because my current computer is a Dell XPSONE 24 (all in one machine). It has been great, but is rapidly becoming outdated. I can no longer update my graphics card without issues and due to the machines design i cannot upgrade the graphics card. (power supply cannot handle anything better).
I am really considering the iMac because i love the all-in-one designs and fits what i need. However, i don't want to be stuck in this same situation in 2 -3 years.

to be fair with AT&T i gotta ask, are those calls only 30 seconds long or 30 minutes long and then gets dropped? 30 second dropped call would piss me off compared to a 30 minute one. if it drops at 30 minutes AT&T is doing ya a favor not accidently running up the minutes hahah

That said, I've probably made and received a total of 150 calls in the past week, so a 3% dropped call ratio isn't too terrible.

I'd just like the car I bought in February to be legal.
(college kid sold me a car with a restitution lien), this has screwed this whole year for me, i drive a beater I had to buy on 1 day notice and could die on me anyday. my goal this year was to get out of debt completely, I'm less than 500 away but now I have to come up with 1500 to get the car legal......for a car i paid 3k for. :(
So somehow I am trying to do this while being a single dad and put together a Christmas for my daughter :(

This use of 'real' materials in digitial software is something I really detest. It made me not like the ipad and nearly put me off the iphone.
Off the top of my head :
Ibooks - wood??????? looks turd
ical - as we have seen
Game center - fake felt table
All these interfaces are the worst thing about iosx .
It seems they are going to get worse !!!!!!! i bet it will be paper for mail next.

Is a fact that iPhones can not meet everyones needs some people want smart phones with a full keyboard some want an SD card. People will buy android phones over iPhones because they cater to their needs. I purchased my G2 because I wanted a full keyboard and a fast proccesor. I did not purchase an iPhone because I hate AT&T and I like SD cards and a file system.

Will it support playing graphic intensive Windows games? That's the only think Parallels doesn't do for me.

In general you won't want to use any kind of virtualization solution for something processor & video intense like this. You'll want to just use boot camp.

Those who bought their Computer in August should be happy with what they got since that was what was the best available at the time. And what are you talking about not in the forecast? The previous revision was here for just over 6 months. From April 2006 to October 2006. How long do you want Apple to go with out updates?

Is it even known yet exactly how this will work? The fact that Apple needed to make agreements with all of the labels makes this service look a little suspect to me. For example, would I be allowed to store my music that was ripped from a CD under a different label (one which Apple doesn't have an agreement?)
THIS is what my biggest worry with the new service is. I bought CDs since the day they were available and I collected many hundreds of them over the years. I legally digitized them all and store them on my harddrive. Those I would like to store in the cloud in addition the to the ones I purchased through iTunes.

How can you tell how many cores its using?
With top in the command line or with activity monitor (utilities/activity monitor); you can see how many cores are running.
