Hi Michael, just curious. Are you doing this alone? Don't have an attorney? I am not suggesting you should have one but just curious. If only we could all do this without hiring attorneys.

My application reached NSC (as per FedEx tracking) on July 24.
My co-workers who filed to NSC thru' same lawyer all got receipts and FP notices. Many of them filed weeks after.
My checks have NOT been encashed yet. Neither I have received any updates on receipts or any kind of processing.
USCIS offers no help and told me to wait for 90 days. Lawyer has the same opinion. Last USCIS receipting update shows that all centers have processed upto July 29 applications.
My last name starts with 'z' and my co-workers are making fun of me that USCIS processes AOS applications alphabetically based on last name :o
what could be the reason??? This is killing me.
Hey, Do not worry !! this is one of the most inconsistant processes , I have seen since long time. Just sit back and relax, it will come through. In my case, I applied on 24th July and got the case # from USCIS by calling them but check are still not cashed.

We are in Kansas....I did show the 485 receipt ....they said 'its just a receipt' not an approval....and so they can't use that. I'll try calling USCIS for the letter. I hope it works since I don't want to waste money on an EAD which I am not gonna use.

Cool. Thanks for your replies. One more question. Are you guys currently in US and have applied 485. How do i use Canadian citizenship and 485 pending to maximize my opportunities in us and also have Canadian citizenship as a backup?

Thanks, Even I am thinking the same but just worried, would I also get the copy of RFE??
If you have an attorney represnted and you ahve signed a G325, you will not get the RFE your lawyer rather would get it...

Doesnt matter if the I-94 is only till the visa expiry. There is another I-94 at the bottom of the approved I-797 that ends on the extended 797 date.

My I 140 got approved in 2006. And my lawyer got approval notice. He also gave me copy of it. I just registered my I 140 case number on USCIS site. I was stunned to find out the status that
Current Status: Notice Returned as Undeliverable.
On September 19, 2006, the post office returned the notice we last sent you on this case I140 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR ALIEN WORKER as undeliverable. This may have serious effects on processing this case. Please call 1-800-375-5283 to update your mailing address for this notice to be re-sent.
I immediately contacted my lawyer. He said that Since He have original approved copy of I140 , I should not worry about it.
I tried even contacting IO. But IO told me that regarding I140 only employer or attorney can call to discuss further. She didn't give me any answers.

If I am working with X company & Y company is ready to file GC.
(Assuming Y has no objections even if I do not join the company at all)
Is it mandatory for the candidate to join company Y at certain stage which has file GC?
If to be on safe side, I should join company Y at some point;
then what is that state - GC is approved (Once GC is in hand)
or even before that.

If there is a loophole and it is being exploited, plug the loophole, not scrap the program. If my head hurts, I don't cut off my head.
And loopholes will be exploited, if they exist. I would do it (and I'm sure majority of us would) if we could. Nothing illegal in that.
Kind of similar to how large corporates avoid paying taxes using every loophole and trick in the book even when they earn billions, while we end up paying tax on every dollar we earn.
P.S. I'm not saying falsifying documents is acceptable... that's illegal and that's an enforcement issue, not taking an advantage issue.
